IN-HOUSE TRAINING & DEVELOPMENT POLICY
SKILLS TRAINING FOR EMPLOYEES
It is the policy of HJ Bosch & Sons to create equal opportunities for all staff members on all levels of grading. (Main Collective Agreement for the Motor Industry). Within the framework set by the Skills Development Act (1998), the Skills Development Facilitator and with the assistance of the Workplace Training Committee, undertake the Skills Training at HJ Bosch & Sons (accommodating as far as possible all grades and levels of employees).
 
APPRENTICESHIP TRAINING FOR THE FUTURE OF THIS INDUSTRY
HJ Bosch & Sons has been accredited by the MERSETA to train apprentice-panelbeaters and spray painters according to the Competency Based Modular Training program. We strive to have the best-qualified staff working on accident-damaged vehicles. We are also involved in empowering the disabled by employing and training deaf panelbeaters. Currently we have five deaf trainees in an apprenticeship-training program. In 2003, HJ Bosch & Sons has won the Automotive Refinisher Training Award for this initiative for the disabled.
 
DISABILITY POLICY AND ACCESS
HJ Bosch & Sons (Pty) Ltd. Employ disabled people as far as possible and within the needs of the Company. Since 2001 deaf Automotive Body Repairers are send for their trade-test (according to the Manpower Training Act 1981). HJ Bosch & Sons (Pty) Ltd. (Automotive Body Repairers) employ deaf people as well as apprentices / learnerships and also play a part in Schools for the Deaf (Pre-occupational training).
